• One of the common injuries that I hear from runners is pain in the knee, described as being 'in their knee joint' or 'behind their knee cap'. It's known by the professionals as Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome.

There has been many theories as to what causes this pain; inflammation of the synovial capsule, stimulation of the pain nerves or connective tissue wear and tear. All of these issues are minor and hard to identify so a new approach to combat knee pain is to target the pain itself.

This article gives step by step guidance on how to target the pain to help you get back to running pain-free, including rest, inflammation, biomechanics or changing footwear. Well worth a read if you run a lot and are bothered by that constant pain in your knee.
